What is Caucus and Assembly? 

The purpose of the caucus is to provide an entryway to the nominating assemblies that select the Democrats who will appear on the June primary ballot. 

Caucus Elects Delegates to the candidate nominating assemblies AND precinct committee people (Who also serve as members of the vacancy committee)

When is Caucus and Assembly? 

The House District 5 Caucus will be on Tuesday March 3rd. Check in at 6:30, and the meeting will start at 7pm. 

On Tuesday the 7th, run for Delegate to the County Assembly. On Saturday March 14th, Delegates can join the Denver Democrats and vote for Justine at the House District 5 Candidate Nomination Assembly. (County Assembly will start at 10am) 

While pre-registration is not required, we highly recommend pre-registering for caucus to save yourself time.

FAQs: 

Who can participate in caucus and assembly? 

- Voters who were registered Democrats as of February 9th Caucuses are open to registered Democrats who live in the precinct and were registered as Democrats before February 9th. 16- and 17-year-olds who are pre-registered to vote AND registered as Democrats, may also participate.


What if I can attend the Caucus on March 3rd, but not the Assembly March 14th? 

- That’s ok! Please participate in the Caucus, and if you want to run for a Delegate to Assembly, we may be able to help you find a proxy for your vote. 

What else happens at Caucus? 

  • Neighbors will elect two Precinct Organizers for each precinct (This becomes the Vacancy Committee)

  • Elect Delegates to County Assembly
    These Delegates move on to vote for candidates at their Nomination Assemblies

  • Recruit future Election Judges
